Not really. A couple recipes are (intentionally) more involved, with step-by-step instructions to teach specific cooking techniques. But most of what you get are normal, everyday recipes using readily-available ingredients. It's the kind of stuff you’d be making for dinner, with a few fancier, "company's coming" options. It’s a very practical cookbook, with instructions clear enough for any level of cooking expertise.
DJ's books are Keto-friendly, although not Keto-specific (with specific ratios of macros). DJ’s recommended target in CARBAGE is 30 net carbs a day, so the vast majority of recipes are under 10 net carbs a serving. FAKERY is similar and most of the recipes do use common keto macro percentages. Bonus points: Nutritionals are broken down–not just by recipe, but by ingredient–so it’s extremely convenient for trackers.
More or less. DJ’s orientation is “Low Primal,” so natural food is always the star. Some recipes include dairy. Honey is not recommended as a sweetener because of its impact on blood glucose, but information on using honey as a sweetener is still included in CARBAGE. So you're free to make the recipes however works best for you.
Yes! There are no wheat products in the ingredients. But if you need to be completely gluten-free, please be sure to check the brands you use because as you already know, gluten mysteriously shows up in lots of places we wouldn’t expect to see it. Sneaky gluten!
Not exactly. You can get the PDF version. Unfortunately, these books cost a small fortune to ship abroad. Some of our paper-book-loving friends have sent them to friends or a mailing service for forwarding, but we understand that's a lot of fuss. We hope to offer them worldwide someday. But for now, everyone can get the PDF versions.
Look for an email within a few minutes of ordering. Sometimes, spam filters do eat it, though. There are also download links on the order confirmation page.
