Getting a Solid Start

  • Read Taking Out the Carbage: AKA the Big Book of Bacon by D.J. Foodie.
  • Check out Weight Loss Zen: An Attitude Adjustment Guide for Keto, Paleo & Low Carb Lifestyles from Dix.
  • Start cutting down on sugar even before officially starting, for an easier transition.
  • Get some good quality multi-vitamins and Omega-3 supplements.
  • If you have a sweet tooth, add L-Glutamine supplements.
  • Save induction-friendly recipes and make a shopping list. Skip the specialty foods for now. Simple is best to start.
  • Jonesin’ for some baked goods? It’s different with alternative flours. Check out THE FAKERY to learn grain-free baking with consistently delicious results!
  • Stock up on full-sodium broth to help with transitional symptoms; you can buy some or make your own.
  • Do your shopping and set your start date. Clear the house of the worst temptations before beginning.
  • Weigh in and take measurements so you can measure your progress.
  • Go! Make sure you follow your plan religiously for the first 2 weeks. This serves to retrain your tastes and does wonders for suppressing appetite and cravings.
