All I will ever need...

I love the books!!!! Over the last few months, I have subscribed to many Facebook pages, YouTube videos and blogs regarding low-carb eating and recipes. I recently tried a few recipes...some good some not so much....since I got these books, I feel like I never have to look at another Facebook low carb page, watch another video or read another book about low-carb at all. I feel like these two books are all I will ever need to learn about low carb eating and cooking. Hello new lifestyle! The books were well written and fun to read. I recommend them to everyone.

These Are The Ones I Use

I have about 30 cookbooks...these are the ones I use, and enjoy, the most. Not just for the great, easy recipes...His writing style makes it a pleasure to read! I recommend them both...and I have a ton of low carb/keto books. I have a hard copy of Fakery and a pdf of Carbage. The pdf is very well laid out and easy to access any page, illustrations and photos are so engaging...thank you for these great books DJ!

You can't go wrong...

Two of the best low carb cookbooks on the market today. You can't go wrong with either or both. If I could only have 2 cookbooks, these would be the two I would have!

First cookbook I've actually ENJOYED reading

I have both books and love them both. I've recommended them to several people. Beyond recipes, the biggest value to me are the explanations of ingredients, tips on cooking, and suggestions on how to experiment. A big plus is that he is funny and entertaining. It's the first cookbook I've actually ENJOYED reading. Who couldn't love this guy?

Wonderful for all Low Carbers

They are both fantastic. Taking Out the Carbage is wonderful for all LCers, old and new. The Fakery is specific to baking and great for that bread craving!

More than valuable...

I have both of these books... they are more than valuable to me. They both are stained with bacon grease because I keep them in the kitchen, they are never far from me -- just in case I need to consult with the expert. The Fakery is just what I needed to help me get over some of the hunger humps that attack... you know the ones, they sneak up on you and whisper in your ear "I want chocolate cake, I want a muffin, I want something sweet." With this very cool book I can have something like that in minutes! If you don't have these books - GET THEM!

Worth Every Penny

I just received mine and went down the rabbit hole for an hour without even realizing it. These books are FANTASTIC and worth every penny. After losing 100lbs in the last year, I'd still like to maintain a lower carb lifestyle and these books are just what I was looking for!!!! Cannot WAIT to read more. Thank you, Low Carb Zen and DJ Foodie!!!

Taking Out the Carbage...

Equivalent of a Culinary School Diploma

That book is awesome. But instead of just recipes, it gives you the equivalent of a culinary school diploma. So many whats and wheres and whyfors, you can figure things out on your own after time. It's comprehensive, it's honest and witty, and it's packed with delicious recipes -- picture and complete nutritional profile for every single one. And it is JUST HIM, so no corporate pathways to travel. If you want to go low carb, primal, etc., this would be all you need. It might even be helpful if you don't. Awesome!!!

Worth Every Penny

I love this book. It has amazing recipes and beautiful pictures. If you can get it, buy it. It is worth every penny. This is a big, heavy book bursting with recipes. This is not some cheap cookbook that was just thrown together. It was a labor of love by DJ, and you will love it too. He talks to the reader: he doesn't preach and talk at them.

I couldn't put it down.

I have Taking Out The Carbage and love it! The information is presented in a way I can understand. It has great stories and is humorous at times. Even the recipes have humorous information. I couldn't put it down.

The Fakery...

Best baking book I have ever owned...

Best baking book I have ever owned, grain or no grain. The picture dictionary, with the different flours and texture you can SEE with the in-depth explanation of everything is the greatest help I have ever had with understanding ingredients, flavor and texture.

A lot of care into it's production...

I just received my book and it's beautiful! DJ put a lot of care into its production. The recipes and commentary are great. Getting started on cooking up a storm!

Awed...

I just got mine but I am awed. Not only recipes, but why they work. The education part is every bit as good as the recipe ideas. Imagine explaining why it works and the ratio theory.
